Netflix‘s beloved period drama, ‘Bridgerton,’ based on Julia Quinn’s bestselling novels, is set to return with its highly anticipated third season, arriving in a unique two-part format on the streaming platform in 2024.
Produced by Shonda Rhimes’s Shondaland, the series delves into the lives and romantic endeavors of the esteemed Bridgerton family, spotlighting the stories of its eight children.
The upcoming season three, spearheaded by showrunner Jess Brownell, will feature a total of eight episodes, with the initial part scheduled for release on May 16, 2024, followed closely by the second part on June 13, 2024, as per an official Netflix press release.
This installment will center on the blossoming love story between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). Penelope, having moved on from her infatuation with Colin, now seeks a husband who can offer her independence to maintain her secret identity as Lady Whistledown. However, her efforts in the marriage market encounter hurdles, leaving her confidence shaken and her pursuits fruitless.
The inaugural season of “Bridgerton,” which debuted in 2020, highlighted the enchanting romance between Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings (Rege-Jean Page). The subsequent season, premiered in March 2022, delved into the captivating love story between Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
