YouTuber-actor Bhuvan Bam has officially confirmed his much-anticipated Bollywood debut with Dharma Productions, ending months of speculation.
The creator of the immensely popular ‘BB Ki Vines’ took to Instagram to share the exciting news, posting a picture of his signed ‘Artist Agreement’ with Karan Johar’s production house. Expressing his joy and gratitude, Bhuvan wrote, “Sapne dekho doston, poore ho jaate hain (Dream big, friends. Dreams really do come true),” alongside the image.
The announcement has taken social media by storm, drawing congratulations from fans and industry colleagues alike. Filmmaker Guneet Monga reacted with red heart and nazar emojis, while Kusha Kapila commented, “Truly a trailblazer.” Actor Rajkummar Rao too joined in, writing, “Bahut bahut mubarak mere bhai. Uncle Aunty’s blessings and your hard work is paying off.”
As per an IANS report, Bhuvan Bam is set to star opposite Wamiqa Gabbi in a quirky romantic comedy titled ‘Kuku Ki Kundali’. The film will be directed by Sharan Sharma, known for his work on ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’, and produced under the Dharma Productions banner. The project is expected to explore an unconventional love story filled with humour, charm, and emotional depth.
Interestingly, the news of Bhuvan’s Bollywood debut first surfaced back in September, when Karan Johar accidentally revealed the project during a candid conversation with comedian Zarna Garg. While praising Bhuvan, KJo said, “He’s been one of the biggest YouTubers and now he’s doing a film for us as the lead actor.” Realising his slip, Johar immediately added, “I think I f*ed up big time. It was actually a big secret, and it was a big reveal at our end. I just messed up big time.”
Bhuvan, who has previously starred in the web series ‘Taaza Khabar’ and ‘Dhindora’, has often spoken about his dream of transitioning from digital entertainment to mainstream cinema. His latest announcement marks a milestone moment in that journey, symbolising how digital creators are increasingly breaking into Bollywood’s mainstream space.
With Bhuvan Bam’s natural charm, Wamiqa Gabbi’s strong screen presence, and Sharan Sharma’s direction, ‘Kuku Ki Kundali’ promises to be a refreshing addition to the rom-com genre — and one of the most talked-about debuts of the year.
