Prime Video has added another major accolade to its growing list of honours, with ‘Bandish Bandits Season Two’ winning the Best Web Series (OTT) Award at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
The musical drama series triumphed in a competitive category that also included two other Prime Video originals—’Paatal Lok Season Two’ and ‘Suzhal: The Vortex Season Two’.
According to a press release, Prime Video said the win marks a new milestone for the service, which previously secured the same award for ‘Panchayat Season Two’ at the 54th IFFI. With multiple nominations and repeated wins, the streamer continues to reinforce its influence on India’s rapidly expanding OTT landscape.
The award was presented by Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs. The selection was made by a distinguished jury chaired by filmmaker Bharatbala Ganapathy, with respected names from the Indian film and television industry serving as jury members.
Produced by Leo Media Collective Private Limited and created by Amritpal Singh Bindra and Anand Tiwari, ‘Bandish Bandits Season Two’ has been celebrated for its rich storytelling, layered characters, and compelling blend of classical and contemporary music. Tiwari, who also directed the season, co-wrote it with Atmika Didwania and Karan Singh Tyagi. The new chapter revisits the emotional and musical journey of Radhe and Tamanna as they balance ambition, legacy, and the pressures of an intense all-India band championship.
The season explores themes of empowerment, individuality, and artistic duality, offering a deeper look into the protagonists’ conflicts and evolution. Set against the serene backdrop of Kasauli and vibrant Indian cities, the series brings together a talented ensemble cast including Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Chaudhry in the lead, alongside Sheeba Chaddha, Atul Kulkarni, Rajesh Tailang, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Divya Dutta, Yashaswini Dayama, Rohan Gurbaxani, Aaliyah Qureshi and Saurabh Nayyar.
Premiering on December 13, 2024 across more than 240 countries and territories, ‘Bandish Bandits Season Two’ received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences for its heartfelt performances and compelling portrayal of the world of music, rivalry, and love. With this latest win, Prime Video continues to cement its position as a powerhouse in the Indian OTT ecosystem, consistently delivering stories that resonate both locally and globally.
