In a strategic internal move, entertainment giant Balaji Telefilms has promoted long-time finance professional Viren Trivedi to the position of Finance Controller, with the appointment taking effect immediately.
The company’s board officially approved the promotion following a green light from its Nomination and Remuneration Committee, reflecting confidence in Trivedi’s deep-rooted expertise and familiarity with the organisation’s financial architecture.
Trivedi, a Chartered Accountant, has been a part of the Balaji Group since 2013, contributing over 11 years of financial experience to the company. His elevation signals a continued trust in proven leadership, with the firm opting for stability and institutional knowledge amid an evolving entertainment and media landscape.
Before stepping into the world of film and television, Trivedi honed his accounting acumen at Suresh Patni & Associates and Mehta & Vasu Associates, where he worked across tax audits, partnership deed drafting, and a range of financial consulting roles. His early years in these roles helped shape a strong foundation in compliance and financial governance.
At Balaji Telefilms, Trivedi has been deeply embedded in the financial ecosystem—managing quarterly financial results, auditor coordination, daily fund operations, and authorisation of key payments. He has also been involved in the commercial aspects of film distribution, actively handling revenue deals and bridging finance with content operations.
Trivedi’s appointment arrives at a time when Balaji is reshaping its content strategy across television, digital, and film. With projects like ‘Kull’ and a pipeline of high-stakes productions under its banner, the company will likely lean heavily on Trivedi’s financial stewardship to maintain efficiency while scaling up.
His promotion is seen not just as a nod to past performance, but also as an indication of Balaji’s intent to anchor its future growth with experienced hands at the helm.
