Prime Video has announced the exclusive global streaming premiere of ‘Awarapan 2’, the Hindi action drama starring Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani. Produced by Vishesh Bhatt and directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film marks Emraan Hashmi’s return as Shivam nearly 19 years after the original ‘Awarapan’ became a memorable title for audiences.
According to a Prime Video announcement, ‘Awarapan 2’ is now streaming exclusively on the platform in India and across 240 countries and territories worldwide, following its theatrical release.
The sequel continues Shivam’s story, combining emotional drama, romance and high-octane action against the backdrop of the criminal underworld. It also revisits the nostalgic musical sensibility associated with the original film while taking its protagonist into a new phase of his life.
The story follows Shivam Pandit, who is living in a remote village in Rajasthan, grieving at his beloved’s grave and questioning his purpose. Having distanced himself from the criminal world and burdened by guilt over his past, he has chosen a life of solitude. However, an unexpected bond gives him a renewed sense of hope and a reason to reconsider his life.
His attempt to leave the past behind is disrupted when he becomes caught up in Bangkok’s cartel war. As violence and betrayal unfold, Shivam is forced to confront his old life while taking responsibility for the people he has come to care about. He must ultimately decide what he is willing to fight for.
Alongside Hashmi and Patani, the film features Shabana Azmi, Puran Gabbi, Vijayant Kohli and Suvinder Vicky in pivotal roles.
The original ‘Awarapan’, directed by Mohit Suri, earned a lasting place in popular culture through its brooding protagonist, emotional storytelling and music. The sequel builds on that legacy while introducing a new chapter in Shivam’s journey.
‘Awarapan 2’ is available to stream exclusively on Prime Video.
