ZEE5 has announced the second season of its Tamil legal drama ‘Sattamum Needhiyum’, with Saravanan returning in the lead role and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar joining the cast in a pivotal role. Directed by Balaji Selvaraj, the new season will explore a fresh case, examining the moral dilemmas and complexities within the justice system.

Produced by Sasikala Prabhakaran under the banner of 18 Creators, the upcoming season will continue the series’ grounded approach to legal drama while introducing a new storyline centred on power, privilege and the pursuit of truth.

The first season followed Saravanan’s character as he took up a case after a father set himself on fire outside a courthouse following the abduction of his daughter. What initially appeared to be a straightforward investigation gradually exposed a network of power, influence and concealed truths, challenging the protagonist’s determination to deliver justice.

Season 2 moves away from the earlier case and explores the grey areas of justice, looking beyond courtroom proceedings and verdicts. The story examines how power, privilege and personal choices can influence the course of justice, while questioning the sacrifices people make in their search for truth.

The new season aims to build on the first instalment’s realistic storytelling with a more layered narrative, bringing fresh challenges and moral conflicts to the forefront.

With Saravanan reprising his role and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar joining the cast, ‘Sattamum Needhiyum’ Season 2 will continue to examine the complexities of the legal system and the human choices that shape the pursuit of justice.
