Amish Devgan has been appointed Managing Editor of Times Now Navbharat, marking a new editorial leadership move for the Hindi news channel. He will take charge of the role with immediate effect and will report to Ashish Sehgal, CEO of Times Television Network and Chief Growth Officer – Media & Entertainment.

According to an internal communication from Times Network, Devgan will be based in Noida and will lead the editorial agenda of Times Now Navbharat. Shamsher Singh, who had been overseeing the channel during the interim period, will continue as Managing Editor for the Digital vertical for Hindi and vernacular languages.

Devgan joins Times Network with more than 25 years of experience in broadcast journalism and editorial leadership. His experience spans Hindi news, prime-time programming, political and business coverage, investigative journalism and newsroom management.

Prior to joining Times Network, Devgan was associated with Network18, where he served as Managing Editor of its regional Hindi news channels and anchored the flagship prime-time show ‘Aar Paar’ on News18 India. He also hosted ‘Takkar’ on CNBC Awaaz and was involved in editorial and programming initiatives across regional Hindi television and digital platforms.

Devgan began his journalism career with ‘Hindustan Times’ before spending more than a decade with Zee Media. During his tenure there, he held several editorial positions, including Deputy Editor, Editor – Output, Editor – Special Projects and Chief Editor – Zee Business. His work has included coverage of politics, the economy and financial markets, as well as investigative stories and major national news events.

Over the course of his career, Devgan has received several industry recognitions, including the IMF Young Emerging Editor’s Award, Srishti Award for Business Journalism, Power Brand Trendsetter Award and multiple ENBA awards for his television programmes.

In his new role at Times Now Navbharat, Devgan will be responsible for steering the channel’s editorial agenda, with Times Network highlighting his experience with Hindi news audiences, newsroom management and prime-time programming as key elements of his appointment.

The appointment comes shortly after Devgan announced his departure from Network18, where he had spent around a decade and was most prominently associated with ‘Aar Paar’.
