Amazon Prime Video has promoted Sonal Kabi to Director and Head of Marketing for APAC and ANZ, significantly expanding her leadership remit across key international markets. In her new role, Kabi will oversee marketing strategy and execution for Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios across the Asia-Pacific region as well as Australia and New Zealand.
The development was shared through a LinkedIn post, in which Kabi reflected on the past year as a phase of growth, learning and impact. She credited strong cross-functional collaboration and partnerships across teams for delivering results, while also acknowledging the role of leadership and mentorship in shaping her journey at Amazon. Describing the transition as a fresh chapter, she referred to the new assignment as the beginning of a “new Day 1.”
Prior to this elevation, Kabi served as Director and Head of Marketing for Prime Video India from June 2024 to October 2025. During this period, she led marketing for several marquee content launches, including Paatal Lok Season 2, Khauf, The Traitors, The Summer I Turned Pretty and The Family Man Season 3, strengthening Prime Video’s positioning in one of its most competitive markets.
Kabi brings close to two decades of experience spanning media, entertainment and consumer brands. She first joined Amazon in 2017 as Lead – India Originals for Prime Video and went on to hold senior roles such as Head – Title Marketing for Prime Video and Head – Marketing for Amazon miniTV. Between 2023 and 2024, she served as Director of Marketing at Netflix, before returning to Amazon in a broader leadership capacity.
Earlier in her career, Kabi held marketing and brand leadership roles at Shuttl, McDonald’s India and Star TV Network, and worked with leading advertising agencies including Leo Burnett and Lowe Lintas. Her experience spans regional and international accounts across Asia-Pacific markets, positioning her well to lead Prime Video’s marketing efforts across APAC and ANZ in this expanded role.
