Veteran actor Neetu Kapoor is set to return to the big screen with ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’, a family entertainer that also features Kapil Sharma, with the makers confirming its theatrical release on May 8.
According to a PTI report, the announcement was made on Friday, with Sharma unveiling the film’s poster on his Instagram handle. The caption hinted at a fun, unconventional storyline, teasing audiences with the line: “Daadi is breaking the internet — and the rules! Is the family with her or against her?”
Written and directed by Ashish R Mohan, the film is backed by RTake Studios and BeingU Studios. While further plot details remain under wraps, the title and promotional material suggest a light-hearted narrative centred around family dynamics, generational differences, and a grandmother who dares to challenge norms.
The pairing of Neetu Kapoor and Kapil Sharma has already sparked curiosity, bringing together seasoned screen presence and comic flair. The film appears to position itself as a cross-generational entertainer, appealing to audiences from Gen D to Gen Z, as highlighted in the announcement.
With its quirky premise and popular cast, ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’ is expected to add a dose of humour and warmth to the early summer release calendar, as audiences look forward to a story that blends tradition with a modern twist.
