The sci-fi horror series ‘Alien: Earth’ has officially been renewed for a second season by FX, according to a report by Variety. The upcoming season is set to begin production in London in 2026, marking a shift from the first season, which was filmed in Thailand.
Quoting from Variety, an ANI report said that the ‘Alien: Earth’ extends the iconic ‘Alien’ film franchise into the television world. The first season premiered on FX in August and received strong reviews from both critics and audiences.
The ensemble cast features Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille and Moe Bar-El.
According to the show’s official logline, “When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.”
The series is created and executive produced by Noah Hawley, who is also known for his successful FX anthology ‘Fargo’, which debuted in 2014. ‘Fargo’ has aired five seasons so far, winning seven Emmy Awards from 70 nominations and three Golden Globes out of 14 nominations. Hawley also created the FX-Marvel series ‘Legion’, which ran for three seasons.
Veteran filmmaker Ridley Scott, along with David W. Zucker, Clayton Krueger, Emilia Serrano, Bob DeLaurentis, Peter Calloway, Monica Macer, John Campisi, and Simon Emanuel, also serve as executive producers on the series. ‘Alien: Earth’ is produced by FX Productions.
