Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh are set to reunite for their upcoming project, ‘Jigra’, marking their first collaboration since the critically acclaimed 2016 film ‘Udta Punjab’.
The pair will contribute their voices to a song for the film, further fuelling excitement among fans, PTI has reported.
Alia Bhatt took to Instagram on Friday to tease the collaboration with Diljit Dosanjh. The post featured a photo of the duo sitting on chairs, with the film’s title, ‘Jigra’, illuminated in front of them. The back of Diljit’s chair read ‘Sings about kudi (girl),’ while Alia’s chair said ‘the said kudi,’ hinting at their roles in the upcoming track. Alia captioned the post, ‘Chairs say it all @diljitdosanjh,’ sparking enthusiastic responses from fans.
Alia and Diljit previously worked together on the song ‘Ikk Kudi (Club Mix)’ from ‘Udta Punjab’, where both actors played significant roles. The film, directed by Abhishek Chaubey, dealt with drug abuse issues in Punjab and starred Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.
In addition to their musical collaboration, Alia Bhatt will star in ‘Jigra’ alongside Vedang Raina. The film, directed by Vasan Bala, explores the bond between a brother and his sister, with Manoj Pahwa and Rahul Ravindran also featuring in key roles. Jigra is scheduled to hit theaters on October 11, 2024.
