The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) has announced the nominations for its 2026 awards, recognising the best films, actors and OTT content from across India. According to an ANI report, the festival will be held in Melbourne from August 13-23.
The Best Actor category features a strong line up, including Aamir Khan for ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, Ranveer Singh for ‘Dhurandhar’, Rishab Shetty for ‘Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1, Mammootty for ‘Kalamkaval’, Abhishek Bachchan for ‘Housefull 5’, Mohanlal for ‘Hridayapoorvam’, and Vikrant Massey for ‘Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan’.
According to an ANI report, the best film nominees include ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, ‘Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1’, ‘Saiyaara’, ‘Haq’, ‘Jarann’, ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’, ‘Sharthopor’ and ‘The Great Shamsuddin Family’
The awards also feature categories for best director, best series, best documentary and best film from the Subcontinent, recognising both theatrical releases and streaming content.
Supported by the Victorian Government, IFFM is one of the world’s biggest festivals celebrating Indian cinema outside India. The annual event honours outstanding work across different languages and platforms, bringing together filmmakers and artists from across the country.
