Aaj Tak has reported a substantial surge in its viewership ratings during Week 48 compared to the previous week.
The channel asserts its leadership position in unrolled data, despite only rolled data being officially released by BARC every week.
According to Aaj Tak’s data, the channel experienced a commendable 4 percent increase in rolled week 48 ratings over week 47 among the audience aged 15 and above in the HSM (Hindi Speaking Market) category.
Significantly, the channel’s most notable spikes in viewership occurred during two key events. During the live coverage of the exit poll, Aaj Tak saw an impressive 53 percent surge in viewership. Similarly, during the coverage of the tunnel rescue event, there was a substantial 13 percent growth in viewership, as per the channel’s calculations.
Aaj Tak’s claim of securing the top spot in Week 48 ratings is backed by their analysis, suggesting that their growth rates surpass those of other channels in the Hindi news genre.
It’s worth noting that while BARC releases rolled data weekly, unrolled data is not universally available for all channels in these reports. Aaj Tak claims to have predicted its top position in unrolled data through sophisticated regression techniques and models trained on extensive year-long data.
This analysis by Aaj Tak forms the basis of their assertion of being the number one channel in unrolled data, which might not be directly reflected in the official BARC weekly reports.
However, their calculations and predictions indicate a strong performance and leadership position within the genre.
