The upcoming episode of ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5′ will take viewers down memory lane as judges and guests revisit the iconic film ‘Rangeela’ and celebrate the journey of choreographer Ahmed Khan.
During the episode, Jaaved Jaaferi and guest Remo D’Souza shared interesting stories about Ahmed Khan’s early days in the film industry and the impact he had on their careers.
According to a SET press release, Jaaved Jaaferi recalled that Ahmed Khan was only 19 years old when filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma entrusted him with the responsibility of choreographing ‘Rangeela’. He said it was a bold decision, considering the film starred Aamir Khan and marked Ahmed’s first project as a choreographer.
The conversation became even more emotional when Remo D’Souza revealed how ‘Rangeela’ played a crucial role in shaping his career. Remo shared that he started his journey in the industry as a background dancer in the film and learned many technical aspects of dance from Ahmed Khan.
Remo revealed that he was initially rejected during the auditions for a song in ‘Rangeela’. However, determined not to give up, he approached Ahmed Khan and requested another opportunity. Ahmed gave him a second chance, a decision that would eventually change Remo’s life.
Looking back on the experience, Remo said getting selected for the song was a huge moment for him. coming from Jamnagar, he never imagined that he would appear in close-up shots in a Bollywood film. He recalled how excited his family and friends were after seeing him on the big screen.
Remo also shared that his journey progressed quickly after ‘Rangeela’. from working as a background dancer, he soon became Ahmed Khan’s assistant, marking the beginning of a successful career in choreography and filmmaking.
The heartfelt discussion highlighted how a single opportunity can transform a person’s life. both Jaaved Jaaferi and Remo D’Souza praised Ahmed Khan’s contribution to the dance industry and reflected on his journey from a teenage choreographer to one of Bollywood’s most respected names.
The special episode of ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5’ will air this weekend on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
