GTPL Broadband Pvt. Ltd., one of India’s leading wired broadband service providers, has appointed telecom industry veteran Vivek Raina as its Chief Executive Officer. The appointment comes as the company looks to accelerate its growth strategy and strengthen its position in India’s rapidly expanding broadband market.
With a subscriber base of more than one million and nearly six million home-pass across its operational footprint, GTPL Broadband is aiming to expand its reach and enhance its service offerings under Raina’s leadership.
According to the company, Raina brings over 25 years of experience spanning product management, operations, channel development and business growth across the telecommunications sector. His extensive industry background is expected to play a key role in shaping GTPL Broadband‘s next phase of expansion.
In his new role, Raina will lead the company’s growth initiatives across both consumer and enterprise segments. His responsibilities will include driving broadband penetration, improving customer experience, expanding digital service offerings and strengthening GTPL’s presence in existing as well as new markets. The company is also expected to focus on expanding its footprint across urban and rural geographies while delivering innovative high-speed internet solutions tailored to evolving consumer needs.
Prior to joining GTPL Broadband, Raina served as Co-Founder and CEO of Excitel Broadband, where he played a significant role in building the company’s broadband business and market presence. Before Excitel, he held leadership positions at several prominent telecom and cable companies, including Digicable, Reliance Communications and Hathway.
The appointment reflects GTPL Broadband’s focus on strengthening its leadership team as competition intensifies in India’s broadband sector. With increasing demand for high-speed internet driven by digital consumption, remote work, online education and streaming services, broadband providers are investing heavily in network expansion and customer acquisition strategies.
Industry experts believe Raina’s experience in scaling broadband businesses and managing large-scale operations could help GTPL capitalize on opportunities emerging from India’s growing digital economy. His expertise in building customer-centric broadband offerings is also expected to support the company’s efforts to enhance service quality and expand market share.
As India’s internet ecosystem continues to evolve, GTPL Broadband’s leadership transition signals its intent to remain competitive and drive long-term growth in one of the country’s fastest-growing digital infrastructure segments.
