PVR INOX Pictures has partnered with Khooni Monday and HorrorCon India to host a special immersive screening of the horror film ‘Backrooms’, offering fans an experience that goes far beyond a traditional movie screening.
According to a PNI report, the event is scheduled to take place at PVR select city walk in Saket, New Delhi, on June 10, 2026. organizers plan to transform the cinema into an interactive horror environment inspired by the eerie and unsettling world of the film, allowing audiences to step directly into the atmosphere of ‘Backrooms’.
Following the positive response to their earlier immersive screening of Hokum, the partners are now expanding the concept with a larger and more engaging experience designed specifically for horror enthusiasts. the initiative reflects a growing trend of community-driven entertainment, where audiences become active participants rather than passive viewers.
Attendees will be welcomed into a themed setup inspired by the movie, including a character dressed in the iconic yellow hazmat suit, a half-human installation, and a towering display of abandoned furniture based on some of the film’s most recognizable visuals. the venue will also feature several interactive zones, social media-friendly activations, and photo opportunities designed for fans and content creators
The evening will include a special fan interaction session hosted by Divay Agarwal, founder of Khooni Monday. during the discussion, fans will have the opportunity to explore theories, hidden clues, and story elements related to ‘Backrooms’, while sharing their own interpretations of the film’s mysterious universe.
Produced by A24, Backrooms has emerged as one of the most talked-about horror films in recent times. based on the popular internet phenomenon of the same name, the film was directed by Kane Parsons, the creator behind the viral YouTube series ‘The Backrooms’: Found Footage. the project gained a massive online following even before its release and has since achieved impressive box office success, attracting horror fans around the world.
Speaking about the collaboration, Divay Agarwal said that modern audiences are looking for more than just watching a film—they want to feel involved in the experience. He added that horror is a genre best enjoyed collectively, and immersive screenings help create a stronger sense of excitement, engagement, and community among viewers.
PVR INOX Pictures’ senior film marketer, Vijit, said the success of ‘Hokum’ demonstrated that audiences are increasingly seeking unique theatrical experiences. He noted that the company remains committed to exploring innovative formats that make cinema more interactive and memorable for moviegoers.
The collaboration highlights the growing popularity of fandom-driven and creator-led entertainment among younger audiences. through initiatives such as HorrorCon India and Khooni Monday, the organizers aim to build a stronger horror community while setting a new benchmark for immersive screenings and fan engagement in India.
