Prime Video has announced that the second season of its rural comedy-drama series ‘Gram Chikitsalay’ will premiere globally on June 23, 2026. Produced by The Viral Fever, the series returns with a new chapter in the life of Dr. Prabhat as he continues his efforts to transform a struggling Primary Health Centre in the fictional village of Bhathkandi.

Directed by Lalitam Tiwari and written by Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Srivastava, the upcoming season builds on the success of the show’s debut outing, which resonated with audiences through its blend of humour, emotion and social commentary rooted in rural India.

The new season picks up from where the first installment ended, following Dr. Prabhat, played by Amol Parashar, as he continues his mission to revive healthcare services in Bhathkandi. Having slowly gained the trust of the villagers despite their initial skepticism, he now faces fresh challenges that test both his determination and ideals. The story explores the complexities of delivering healthcare in rural India while highlighting the strong community bonds and everyday realities of village life.

The cast features the return of Akash Makhija, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Vinay Pathak, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and Garima Vikrant Singh, while actor Dinesh Lal Yadav joins the ensemble cast in a key role.

Announcing the premiere, Manish Menghani, Director and Head of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, said audience interest in stories set in rural India continues to grow alongside urban narratives. He noted that the first season connected strongly with viewers through its slice-of-life storytelling and relatable themes, prompting the platform to bring back the series for another chapter.

Director Lalitam Tiwari said the team wanted to continue portraying rural India authentically, showcasing not only the healthcare challenges faced by villages but also the resilience, humour and relationships that define community life. According to him, the new season delves deeper into these themes while expanding the journey of its central characters.

Since its debut, ‘Gram Chikitsalay’ has carved out a niche among viewers looking for grounded, character-driven storytelling. By combining humour with social realities, the series has offered a refreshing look at rural healthcare and village dynamics, making Dr. Prabhat’s journey both entertaining and relatable.

The second season of ‘Gram Chikitsalay’ will stream exclusively on Prime Video in Hindi across India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide from June 23.
