The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) is set to celebrate a significant milestone as it completes 80 years on May 19, 2026. The occasion will bring together leaders from across the advertising, media, and marketing ecosystem, highlighting the association’s long-standing role in shaping India’s advertising landscape and its continued focus on the future of the industry.
A press release stated, the event will be graced by Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar as Chief Guest. He is expected to address the gathering and felicitate organisations that have been associated with AAAI for over 50 years, marking their enduring contribution to the industry.
Founded in 1945, the Advertising Agencies Association of India has played a central role in building a structured and ethical advertising ecosystem in the country. Over the decades, it has worked to establish industry standards, encourage creativity, and foster collaboration between agencies, advertisers, and media platforms. The association has also acted as a bridge between the industry and regulatory bodies, ensuring that the interests of agencies are represented while supporting talent development initiatives.
Speaking on the milestone, Srinivasan K Swamy, President of AAAI and Executive Group Chairman of R. K. Swamy Ltd, described the 80-year journey as a reflection of sustained efforts to build and evolve industry standards in a rapidly changing sector. He noted that while the association could not celebrate its 75th anniversary due to the pandemic, the upcoming “Oak Jubilee” holds special significance.
Echoing this sentiment, Jaideep Gandhi, Vice President of AAAI, highlighted that the organisation’s journey has been shaped by the strength and resilience of its members. He added that the milestone presents an opportunity to deepen collaboration and prepare the industry for a more integrated and future-ready ecosystem.
