Times Internet has announced the launch of ‘Diaspora Dialogues’, a new fortnightly video podcast hosted by broadcaster Sujatha Padmanabhan. The show, which premiered on April 30, aims to bring forward intimate and unfiltered conversations with South Asians shaping culture, business, and creative life across the United States and beyond.
Designed as a 30-to-45-minute conversational format, ‘Diaspora Dialogues’ moves beyond conventional success stories to explore the deeper, more personal journeys of its guests. The podcast delves into themes such as immigration experiences, dual identities, cultural transitions, and the realities behind professional achievements, offering a more human lens on global South Asian narratives, the Times Internet said in a press release.
The debut season features a diverse lineup of guests, including YouTube and music creator Vidya Vox, chef Vijay Kumar, actor Kal Penn, entrepreneurs Ani and Ayan Sanyal of Kolkata Chai Co., fitness entrepreneur Sarina Jain, comedian Amit Tandon, business advisor Ram Charan, and restaurateur Jay Jayaraman. Additional guests are expected to be announced as the season progresses.
The initiative comes at a time when the South Asian diaspora continues to expand rapidly, particularly in the United States, where the community now numbers over five million and represents one of the fastest-growing and most economically influential groups. The podcast is positioned to fill a gap in storytelling that reflects this community’s lived experiences with authenticity and depth.
Speaking about the show, Sujatha Padmanabhan said, “South Asian stories deserve more than a footnote in someone else’s narrative. This show is about the journey — the doubt, the grit, the culture you carry with you, and the identity you build on the other side. These are conversations I’ve wanted to hear for years.”
The podcast is backed by brand partnerships, including Sistar Mortgage and HOS Global Foods, with both organisations highlighting the importance of community storytelling and cultural representation through the initiative.
‘Diaspora Dialogues’ is currently available across major audio and video platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Amazon Music, JioSaavn, Gaana, and the Times of India app, as Times Internet expands its footprint in the podcasting and long-form storytelling space.
