TIME is set to bring its global ‘TIME100 Next’ franchise to India for the first time, in partnership with Reliance Industries, marking a significant expansion of the platform that recognises emerging global leaders. The announcement was made at the TIME100 Gala in New York, signalling a new chapter focused on India’s next generation of changemakers.
The inaugural TIME100 Next India will spotlight 100 emerging leaders from across sectors including arts, science, business, sports, and advocacy. The list, curated by TIME’s editorial team, will feature individuals from India and the diaspora who are shaping the country’s future with their work and vision.
The initiative will culminate in a dedicated TIME100 Next India Gala, scheduled to be held in December 2026 at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. The list will also be published online, extending its reach to a global audience.
Speaking at the announcement, Jessica Sibley said the move reflects TIME’s commitment to recognising emerging leaders driving progress across industries worldwide. She noted that bringing the platform to India aligns with the organisation’s broader vision of highlighting impactful voices on a global stage.
Nita Ambani emphasised that the partnership is rooted in a shared vision of empowering future leaders and showcasing India’s talent to the world. She added that hosting the event in Mumbai reflects an ongoing effort to bring global platforms to India while amplifying Indian excellence internationally.
Dan Macsai, who oversees the TIME100 franchise, highlighted that TIME100 Next has evolved into a key platform for identifying leaders who are expected to shape the decades ahead. Expanding the initiative to India, he said, comes at a time when the country is witnessing a surge of emerging talent across sectors.
The launch of TIME100 Next India marks the first international edition of the TIME100 Next franchise, building on TIME’s expanding global footprint through events and recognition platforms held across multiple continents in recent years.
Further details around the list and the gala are expected to be announced in the coming months.
