Amazon MX Player has unveiled the trailer of ‘Battleground Season 2’, setting the stage for a high-intensity return of the fitness reality format with a stronger mix of strategy, endurance and competition. The new season brings together 16 contestants, divided into four teams, all competing for the title of India’s ultimate Fitness Star in what promises to be a more demanding and immersive experience than before.
An official press release from the streamer outlined the scale and ambition behind the second season, which builds on the strong response received by its debut edition. With daily episode drops starting April 17, the show will stream free on Amazon MX Player, expanding its reach across multiple platforms including mobile devices and connected TVs.
At the centre of the show is cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, who returns as the Superselector, guiding the competition with his experience and leadership. This season also introduces a dynamic lineup of team owners, adding new layers to the gameplay. Priyanka Chahar Choudhary leads the Mumbai Strikers, Khesari Lal fronts the Bhojpuri Bhaukaals, Fukra Insaan takes charge of the Delhi Dominators, and pro-kabaddi player Rahul Chaudhari heads the Telugu Tigers.
Inside the Battleground House, contestants will face a mix of physical challenges and mental endurance tests designed to push them to their limits. The format includes daily tasks that demand consistency, along with high-stakes ‘Fight Club Weekend’ face-offs that determine eliminations. The competition ultimately narrows down to one male and one female winner.
Amogh Dusad, Director and Head of Content at Amazon MX Player, said the intent behind the show is to go beyond conventional fitness formats. He noted that the new season raises the bar in terms of scale and storytelling, while continuing to focus on resilience and mental strength as key aspects of the competition.
Dhawan echoed similar sentiments, stating that Season 2 will be more intense, with tougher challenges and a more demanding journey for contestants. Meanwhile, returning participant Fukra Insaan highlighted the advantage of experience, adding that strategy and pressure management will play a crucial role in shaping outcomes this season.
Produced by Rusk Media, the show aims to evolve into a larger entertainment property by blending creator-led storytelling with a fitness-driven narrative. With increased scale, new personalities and a more immersive format, ‘Battleground Season 2′ is positioned to build on its early momentum and engage audiences with a mix of competition and drama.
