Amagi has announced the launch of AdFlow Orchestrator, an intelligent advertising and stream event management system designed to address monetisation challenges in the rapidly growing Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST) ecosystem. The new solution aims to help broadcasters unlock higher revenues by aligning traditional TV ad formats with the requirements of streaming platforms.
An official Amagi press release outlined how structural gaps between linear television and FAST environments have been limiting revenue potential. While traditional TV relies on longer ad breaks, streaming platforms typically reject such formats, resulting in ad server timeouts and reduced fill rates—an issue AdFlow Orchestrator is built to resolve.
The tool is based on the Placement Opportunity Information Service (POIS) standard under the SCTE 130-5 framework, allowing it to intelligently restructure SCTE-35 ad markers. Positioned within the video supply chain, the system automatically adapts ad breaks to meet the specific requirements of different distribution platforms, ensuring that ad opportunities are both valid and optimised for maximum yield.
According to Srinivasan KA, Co-founder and President-Global Business at Amagi, the FAST ecosystem has matured significantly, but monetisation inefficiencies persist due to incompatibility between broadcast and streaming formats. He noted that the new solution addresses the issue at its core by automating compliant ad break creation, improving fill rates while also enhancing the overall viewer experience.
Gonçalo Madeira, Chief Technology Officer at FUEL TV, highlighted that adapting ad break structures across platforms had previously led to inefficiencies and lower fill rates. With the implementation of Amagi’s solution, he noted that the process has been automated seamlessly, resulting in immediate and measurable gains in revenue performance.
