Actor Shahid Kapoor has begun shooting for the second season of the acclaimed thriller series ‘Farzi’, the actor announced through social media. Kapoor shared the update on his Instagram stories, posting a picture from the first day of the shoot with the caption, “Farzi 2 day 1… Back at it.”
The image featured the actor alongside filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D. K., popularly known as Raj & DK, who created and directed the series, a PTI report from New Delhi yesterday stated.
In another post, Kapoor shared a black-and-white collage of his pictures with the title “Farzi 2”, signalling the official start of production on the new season of the popular show.
The first season of ‘Farzi’, which premiered in 2023 on Amazon Prime Video, marked Kapoor’s debut on the OTT platform. In the series, he played Sunny, a talented small-time artist who gets drawn into the dangerous world of counterfeiting after creating a near-perfect fake currency note. The show also featured actors Raashii Khanna and Vijay Sethupathi in key roles.
In February, Raj & DK had hinted that work on the second season was underway by sharing a poster on social media that read “Round 2 in progress. Farzi 2”, which was later reposted by Kapoor.
The actor was last seen in director Vishal Bhardwaj’s film ‘O’Romeo’, which also starred Triptii Dimri, Avinash Tiwary and Tamannaah Bhatia.
