JioStar hosted its Distribution Day 2026 yesterday in Mumbai, celebrating the affiliate community that powers its linear television network and strengthens its nationwide reach. The event focused on reinforcing partnerships, encouraging industry dialogue, and highlighting the role of distribution partners in expanding television’s presence across Indian households.
According to a LinkedIn post by JioStar, the event underscored the company’s commitment to collaboration, innovation, and shared progress with its distribution ecosystem. The initiative positioned affiliate partners as central to the company’s strategy of delivering entertainment and sports content to millions of viewers across the country.
One of the key highlights of the event was a fireside chat featuring Kevin Vaz, CEO – Entertainment at JioStar, and Ishan Chatterjee, CEO – Sports at JioStar, moderated by Piyush Goyal, Head – Distribution at JioStar. The session focused on fostering open conversations around growth, innovation, and shared priorities within the evolving television landscape.
Speaking at the event, Kevin Vaz emphasised the continuing relevance of television in India’s media ecosystem. He highlighted the company’s focus on delivering high-quality, family-oriented entertainment across genres and languages, noting that television remains a powerful medium that brings families together through shared viewing experiences. He also acknowledged the critical role played by distribution partners in enabling the company’s content to reach millions of homes daily, adding that their market understanding and resilience drive JioStar’s scale and impact.
Vaz further noted that as viewer preferences continue to evolve and content consumption options expand, the partnership between broadcasters and distributors becomes even more significant. Distribution Day, he said, serves as a platform to celebrate this shared journey and reaffirm the company’s commitment to growing and reimagining the Pay TV ecosystem.
Ishan Chatterjee, meanwhile, highlighted the strong performance of sports content on linear television, stating that live sports continue to deliver record-breaking viewership and unite audiences at an unmatched scale. He said the reach and impact of sports broadcasting would not be possible without the support of distribution partners who help deliver content seamlessly to households across India.
Chatterjee added that JioStar deeply values its distribution ecosystem for enabling the company to bring major sporting moments and experiences to fans nationwide, reinforcing the enduring appeal of the big-screen viewing experience.
Through Distribution Day 2026, JioStar reiterated its focus on strengthening its affiliate network while advancing innovation in content delivery and audience engagement, positioning partnerships as a cornerstone of its long-term growth strategy in India’s evolving television industry.
