Taj Mussoorie Foothills, Dehradun, celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India on January 26 with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour, bringing together distinguished guests, local communities, and hotel staff in a heartfelt tribute to the nation. The event reflected the spirit of unity and national pride that defines the occasion.
As highlighted in an official press release, the celebrations were graced by Major Shashi Mehta, an ultra-runner and NCC officer, along with Sudhir Chaudhary, Editor-in-Chief of DD News, and Pankaj Krishna, Founder and CEO of Chrome DM. Their presence lent added significance to the ceremony, which was attended by esteemed guests and the entire team at Taj Mussoorie Foothills.
The day began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by a disciplined and spirited march past by NCC cadets and the hotel’s security staff. The ceremony symbolised commitment, discipline, and respect for the nation. Adding a strong sense of warmth and inclusivity to the celebrations, residents from Malsi village and students from the Government Primary School in Rajpur actively participated, turning the event into a shared community experience.

Addressing the gathering, Major Shashi Mehta, Sudhir Chaudhary, and Pankaj Krishna spoke about the importance of self-discipline, unity, and collective responsibility in upholding the pride and dignity of the country. Their messages struck a chord with those present, reinforcing the core values and ideals that Republic Day represents.
The celebrations concluded on a warm and convivial note with a high tea hosted by Naveen Tomar, General Manager of Taj Mussoorie Foothills, Dehradun. Guests, staff members, and community participants came together to share conversations and patriotic joy, marking a fitting end to the occasion.
