Veteran journalist and one of India’s most recognizable news anchors, Sudhir Chaudhary, has officially lifted the curtain on his next big project a new 9pm prime-time show titled ‘Decode With Sudhir Chaudhary’ on Doordarshan.

The promo was unveiled today via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, accompanied by the caption, “The wait is over… एक नई शुरुआत #DecodeWithSudhirChaudhary.”

The announcement comes shortly after Chaudhary made a candid appearance at WAVES 2025, where he reflected on his decades-long journey in Indian journalism and hinted at his upcoming collaboration with the national broadcaster. Describing the show as an “experiment,” he said the concept is “almost finalized” and will go on air soon, though an exact launch date is yet to be disclosed.

Speaking at the event, Chaudhary underscored the opportunity public broadcasters offer in the current media landscape. “News is the most sensitive segment. But platforms like Doordarshan and Prasar Bharati are enormous, and there are many in this country who can create good shows not just in entertainment, but also in news,” he remarked. His comments suggest that the show will aim to bring back substance and depth to prime-time journalism — a genre he has long influenced.

With ‘Decode With Sudhir Chaudhary’, the anchor is expected to decode major national and global developments, offering deeper insights and analysis, much like the format that made his previous shows such as ‘DNA’ and ‘Black & White’ immensely popular. Known for his crisp style, nationalist tone, and mass appeal, Sudhir Chaudhary’s move to Doordarshan signals a notable shift for both the anchor and the channel.

Over the past three decades, Chaudhary has established himself as a commanding voice in Indian television news, first at Zee News and later at Aaj Tak.
