Tata Play Binge has expanded its content offering with the launch of ‘Shots’, a new destination dedicated to mobile-only, vertical micro-dramas designed for quick and immersive viewing.
Positioned as a first-of-its-kind aggregation hub, ‘Shots’ brings together short-format storytelling from multiple creators and partners, allowing viewers to enjoy bite-sized entertainment within the Tata Play Binge app itself.
According to a Tata Play Binge press release, ‘Shots’ is available at no additional cost to all active Binge subscribers and is supported by advertising. The category is aimed at viewers who increasingly prefer quick watch sessions on their smartphones, turning everyday moments such as commutes, queues and short breaks into opportunities to catch up on engaging stories.
At launch, ‘Shots’ features more than 160 micro-dramas across action, drama and thriller genres, with episodes typically running between one and two minutes. Content partners Bullet and STAGE are the first to come on board, together contributing over 110 hours of short-form programming, with several more partners expected to join in the coming months. The experience has been built entirely for vertical consumption, offering a scroll-friendly interface, auto-next playback and easy discovery without requiring users to switch apps or manage additional subscriptions.
The content slate spans Hindi and key regional languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Marathi, underlining the platform’s focus on diversity and reach. Titles available on ‘Shots’ include ‘Ishq Kills’, ‘Divorce Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’, ‘Rent A Boyfriend’ and ‘Main Hoon Aprajita’ in Hindi, ‘One Last Ride’ in Telugu, along with regional offerings such as ‘12vi Aala Pyar’ and ‘Gaurav Ki Sweety in Haryanvi’, and ‘Aafat Ya Pyar’ and ‘Horror Haveli’ in Rajasthani.
Commenting on the launch, Pallavi Puri, Chief Commercial and Content Officer at Tata Play, said short-form vertical storytelling has rapidly moved into the mainstream and is now one of the most popular ways audiences consume content on mobile. She noted that Shots is a natural extension of changing viewer habits, bringing together micro-dramas from multiple partners into one seamless destination while helping creators and platforms reach wider audiences through a unified aggregation model.
With the introduction of ‘Shots’, Tata Play Binge further strengthens its position as one of India’s most comprehensive OTT aggregators. The new category complements its extensive long-form catalogue and is expected to drive higher daily engagement and viewing frequency, all within a single app experience that already hosts a wide range of leading global and regional streaming platforms.
