As Bihar heads towards a crucial election, India News and NewsX have unveiled their exclusive two-phase Bihar Opinion Poll, offering a comprehensive, data-driven snapshot of the state’s evolving political landscape. The detailed broadcast, which aired on both networks at 7pm on October 6, delved deep into voter sentiment, leadership preferences, alliance equations, and the performance perceptions shaping Bihar’s political course ahead of the polls.
According to a NewsX press release, the IANS–Matriz survey presented a detailed analysis of seat projections for the NDA, Mahagathbandhan, and other parties, while also evaluating the popularity of potential Chief Ministerial candidates and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s enduring influence across Bihar’s political spectrum. The survey spanned a wide cross-section of the state’s electorate—from urban centres like Patna and Muzaffarpur to rural strongholds such as Gaya, Purnia, and Bhagalpur—capturing both macro and micro-level voter opinions on governance, leadership, and development.
The findings revealed a clear advantage for the NDA, which is projected to secure a 49 percent vote share, compared to 36 percent for the Mahagathbandhan and 15 percent for others. Development emerged as the top priority for nearly half of Bihar’s voters, followed by issues of caste, religion, and voter lists. While the data indicates a seat-wise edge for the NDA, the report cautions that it remains an early projection, with the final verdict resting in the hands of the electorate on polling day.
The broadcast gained significant traction across social media platforms and among political circles, sparking widespread debate on voter dynamics and the fine margins that could determine results in key constituencies. Political observers and analysts hailed the show’s rigorous methodology and sharp presentation for setting a new standard in pre-poll coverage.
Commenting on the impact of the findings, Rakesh Singh, Managing Editor, India News, said, “The Bihar Opinion Poll by India News and NewsX reflects the authentic voice of the people of Bihar. Our aim was to bring to viewers a scientifically conducted, unbiased, and insightful analysis of the political mood across the state. Bihar’s electorate is highly aware and aspirational, responding to performance and governance. Through this opinion poll, we’ve sought to present the unfiltered truth of what Bihar’s citizens are thinking as the state heads into another defining election.”
Adding to the conversation, Rishabh Gulati, Editor-in-Chief, NewsX & NewsX World and CEO, NewsX, remarked, “NewsX and India News have consistently gone beyond surface-level speculation in political coverage. This Bihar Opinion Poll represents the best of data-driven journalism, where research meets analysis and reportage meets insight. It’s not just about who might win—it’s about understanding why people are voting the way they are.”
Conducted in two extensive phases, the India News–NewsX Bihar Opinion Poll went beyond mere seat counts to capture the deeper voter pulse, focusing on issues such as employment, infrastructure, healthcare, and social welfare. By translating raw public sentiment into meaningful insights, the survey offered a transparent and authentic reflection of Bihar’s political mood.
With this initiative, India News and NewsX reaffirmed their leadership in political journalism, blending precision, neutrality, and analytical depth. The special telecast stood as a benchmark in credible political research, reinforcing both networks’ commitment to empowering citizens with fact-based information as Bihar moves closer to a decisive election.
