Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has strongly criticised producer Vijay Subramaniam for backing an AI-generated film titled ‘Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal’, warning that such projects represent a dangerous future for Hindi cinema.
According to a PTI report, Kashyap took to Instagram to share the film’s poster, posting a note directly addressed to Subramaniam, who is the founder and group CEO of talent management agency Collective Artists Network. The project has been produced by Subramaniam in collaboration with Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment.
The 52-year-old director expressed concern over the rise of AI-led storytelling in films, cautioning that creativity and human artistry could be undermined if such projects gain ground.
While Kashyap did not mince words in his criticism, he suggested that films entirely driven by artificial intelligence could set a worrying precedent for the industry.
‘Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal’ has been promoted as an AI-generated venture that explores mythological storytelling with new-age technology. However, Kashyap’s remarks have reignited the debate around AI’s growing role in cinema and its potential impact on filmmakers, actors, and creative professionals.
