ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) is set to expand its Kannada footprint with the launch of its ambitious new channel, ZEE Power. Positioned as a hybrid entertainment destination, the channel will go on air from August 23, bringing a mix of fiction, reality, movies, devotional shows and regional sports to viewers.
ZEEL, which has made Zee Kannada a household name in Karnataka, is banking on the legacy of trust and entertainment it has built over the years. With ZEE Power, the company promises to take Kannada entertainment “to a whole new level” by creating a vibrant space where drama blends with inspiration, and culture meets innovation.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Raghavendra Hunsur, Chief Content Officer, ZEEL, said the channel is a bold step forward. “ZEE Power is a destination where fiction will be crisp and powerful, reality shows will be thought-provoking, and our movies will reflect the pulse of the audience. We are creating a space that will inspire, entertain and connect with people like never before,” he added.
Siju Prabhakaran, Chief Cluster Officer – South & West, ZEEL, called the channel’s launch a milestone for the network in Karnataka. “We have listened closely to our viewers and understood their desire for more variety, stronger concepts and aspirational content. ZEE Power is designed to be fresh, fast-paced and full of surprises,” he noted.
The hybrid channel will open with a diverse line-up of shows from August 25, following a grand launch event on the 23rd. Four new fiction serials will premiere — ‘Rajakumari’ (7pm), the story of an ambitious girl setting up her own sweet shop in the city; ‘Gauri’ (7.30 pm), which follows a woman’s unshakable devotion to her family; ‘Jodi Hakki’ (8pm), exploring the clash between education and power in a rural setting and ‘Shubhasya Sheeghram’ (8.30 pm), a family drama centred on love, marriage and societal norms.
Non-fiction programming will be led by ‘Halli Power’ (9pm–10pm), hosted by Akul Balaji, where city-based girls adapt to the challenges of village life. Mornings on the channel will begin with ‘Bhavishya Darshana’ (7.30 am–9 am), a devotional show that dives into astrology and spiritual insights. Alongside, ZEE Power promises to deliver festival specials, women-led narratives, blockbuster films and sports content aimed at uniting family audiences.
