Multiplex chain Cinépolis has partnered with Amazon Pay to simplify the payment experience for moviegoers across India. The collaboration aims to enhance the convenience and speed of transactions for customers booking tickets, buying snacks, or accessing other services at Cinépolis outlets nationwide.
According to a report by The Economic Times, the partnership will integrate Amazon Pay as a preferred payment option both online and at physical cinemas, allowing users to transact securely with just a few clicks. This move not only improves the payment journey for Amazon Pay users but also strengthens Cinépolis’ commitment to offering a smoother and more digitally enabled cinema experience.
Speaking about the collaboration, Cinépolis India Managing Director Devang Sampat said, “We are constantly exploring new avenues to offer our patrons an effortless and rewarding movie experience. This partnership with Amazon Pay will enable us to deliver on that promise by reducing transaction friction and rewarding customers with various benefits.”
With digital payments becoming increasingly mainstream in the entertainment sector, the tie-up comes at a time when multiplexes are trying to rebuild audience footfalls and boost customer loyalty through value-added services. Through this alliance, customers will also be able to avail exclusive cashback offers, faster checkouts, and secure payments through Amazon Pay’s existing infrastructure.
The collaboration is expected to further drive digital adoption among cinema-goers, especially in tier-2 and tier-3 cities where Amazon Pay has seen growing traction. As multiplexes continue to innovate in their customer engagement strategies, partnerships like these are being seen as key enablers in transforming the overall movie-watching experience.
