In a dynamic crossover between dance and pop culture, Amazon MX Player has teamed up with Pokémon for a first-of-its-kind creative collaboration for ‘Realme ‘Hip Hop India’’ S2.
The show, currently streaming on Amazon MX Player, has already crossed 20.1 million viewers in just five weeks—and this new alliance with one of the world’s most iconic entertainment brands has only amped up the excitement.
This innovative partnership brings together India’s only hip-hop dance reality show and the nostalgic charm of Pokémon, beginning with a surprise dance segment featuring none other than Pikachu. Known for its electrifying moves, the beloved character made a lively appearance on set, earning a roaring reception from the audience and contestants alike.
(UNI) The collaboration marks a key milestone in Amazon MX Player’s ongoing efforts to craft bold, marketing-first brand tie-ups. A highlight of the campaign includes a visually striking video produced in association with Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, featuring Bollywood icon Malaika Arora, who joins the judging panel this season.
The video creatively merges the thrill of opening digital Pokémon card packs with the adrenaline of a hip-hop dance battle. With stylized choreography and special effects representing Pokémon powers, it’s a striking blend of fantasy, rhythm, and raw street talent.
“Our collaboration with Pokémon perfectly reflects Amazon MX Player’s commitment to delivering bold, innovative experiences to our audience,” said Aruna Daryanani, Director, Amazon MX Player. “By bringing together the iconic charm of Pokémon with the raw energy of Realme ‘Hip Hop India’ Season 2, we’re offering viewers a one-of-a-kind cultural mash-up that is unique and memorable.”
Speaking on her role in the campaign, Malaika Arora shared, “There’s something truly magical about the world of Pokémon—the adventure, the action, the joy of discovery. Pair that with the energy of hip hop, and it just clicks. This was such a fun and imaginative concept to shoot, and it really captures how two different worlds can come together to create something unforgettable.”
Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer at The Pokémon Company, echoed the sentiment: “Our goal with this collaboration was to spark imagination and joy, just as Pokémon has done for fans around the world for decades. Partnering with Amazon MX Player on an impactful show like Realme ‘Hip Hop India’ S2 gave us the perfect canvas to showcase Pokémon’s playful spirit in a new, movement-driven way.”
‘Realme ‘Hip Hop India’’ S2, judged by Remo D’Souza and Malaika Arora, continues to shine a spotlight on India’s most talented underground dancers. The show, now a cultural phenomenon, pushes boundaries with every new episode—showcasing record-breaking performances, fierce battles, and compelling storytelling.
New episodes drop every Thursday and are available exclusively on Amazon MX Player through the app, Amazon’s shopping platform, Prime Video, Fire TV, and connected TVs.
