Prime Video is all set to tip off its coverage of the NBA in India later this year, marking a major leap in the platform’s global live sports portfolio. As excitement builds ahead of the October 2025 launch, the company has unveiled the official logo for “NBA on Prime,” giving fans a first glimpse into what promises to be a landmark partnership between the streaming platform and the National Basketball Association.
As per an official press release, this initiative is part of an expansive 11-year global media rights agreement that brings NBA action straight to Prime members in India at no additional cost. Under the deal, subscribers in India will get access to 67 regular-season NBA games annually, as well as all seven games from the Knockout Rounds of the Emirates NBA Cup, the entire SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament, select early rounds of the NBA Playoffs, and Conference Finals in six out of the 11 years of the partnership.
Prime Video is also pulling out all stops in its presentation of the game, with a high-profile studio show hosted by acclaimed sports journalist Taylor Rooks. Joining her will be an all-star panel of analysts featuring NBA legends and Hall-of-Famers such as Steve Nash, Dwyane Wade, Blake Griffin, Dirk Nowitzki and Udonis Haslem. WNBA icon Candace Parker will join the team as an in-game and studio analyst for the NBA broadcasts and will take the lead for Prime Video’s WNBA coverage starting 2026.
Fans can also expect enhanced access to live and on-demand content through NBA League Pass, which Prime Video will offer globally as its official third-party distribution partner. League Pass will be available for an additional subscription fee, giving basketball enthusiasts the chance to catch more regular-season and postseason NBA games worldwide.
Starting in 2026, Prime members in India will further enjoy exclusive access to 30 regular-season WNBA games each season, including the Championship match of the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup presented by Coinbase. The platform will also stream select WNBA postseason games annually, including a first-round series, seven Semi-Finals, and three WNBA Finals over the course of the agreement.
This extensive partnership marks a turning point for sports streaming in India, placing Prime Video at the center of professional basketball’s global media future. With big names, premium content, and a broad offering that spans both NBA and WNBA seasons, the upcoming launch is set to bring Indian fans closer than ever to the action on court.
