Actor Kritika Kamra has signed on for an upcoming women-led drama directed by Anusha Rizvi, renowned for her acclaimed film ‘Peepli Live’. The project, produced by Jio Studios, also features Sheeba Chaddha and Shreya Dhanwanthary in pivotal roles.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of Delhi, the film unfolds over the course of a single day, delving into the lives of ten women within a family. Drawing inspiration from a true event, the narrative explores how an unexpected incident reshapes their interpersonal dynamics, offering a blend of situational comedy and poignant storytelling, PTI reported.
Principal photography commenced earlier this month in the capital, with the cast currently engaged in preparatory workshops. A source from the production shared, “The narrative is both powerful and timely. Anusha, who displayed her knack for satire with ‘Peepli Live’, will bring her biting humour to the story” .
This film marks Rizvi’s return to feature filmmaking after a 15-year hiatus and adds to Kamra’s diverse body of work, which includes notable performances in ‘Bheed’, ‘Bambai Meri Jaan’, and ‘Gyaarah Gyaarah’. With its strong ensemble cast and resonant theme, the project promises to offer a thought-provoking cinematic experience.
