‘Loveyapa’, the debut film of Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan, is now streaming on JioHotstar. With both stars hailing from celebrated Bollywood families — Khushi being the daughter of late Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, and Junaid being the son of superstar Aamir Khan — the film stirred excitement amongst the film fraternity.
Directed by Tarun Dudeja, ‘Loveyapa’ brings a modern-day love story that delicately balances humour, emotion, and the chaos of young hearts navigating relationships in a digital-first world. Set in contemporary urban India, the film explores what love means in an age of likes, swipes, and texts.
Khushi plays Tara, a spirited and independent Gen Z girl with a mind of her own, while Junaid Khan steps into the shoes of Armaan, a quietly ambitious boy-next-door with a classic romantic soul. Their contrasting personalities set the stage for a breezy yet emotionally resonant love story that’s already drawing praise for its relatability and charm.
The film’s title, ‘Loveyapa’, is a playful take on today’s youth slang for love — a mix of “love” and “yaar” — and perfectly captures the quirky, vibrant tone of the film.
The film also features a strong supporting cast, including seasoned performers and breakout talents, adding depth and light-heartedness in equal measure.
