Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched three game-changing services in Puducherry, transforming digital connectivity and entertainment for millions. These services include the much-anticipated Intranet TV (BiTV), the expansion of the National Wi-Fi Roaming Facility, and the introduction of Intranet Fibre-based TV (IFTV).
The standout feature is BSNL‘s Intranet TV (BiTV), a pioneering service that offers more than 300 live TV channels, including premium content, completely free for all mobile users in Puducherry. Developed in collaboration with OTTplay, BiTV is available to all BSNL customers, irrespective of their mobile plan. This service promises a wealth of content, including live TV, movies, web series, and documentaries in multiple languages.
BiTV ensures seamless streaming, powered by BSNL’s secure mobile intranet, offering uninterrupted high-quality video. BSNL’s Chief Managing Director, Robert J Ravi, emphasized that BiTV offers a modern, cost-free entertainment alternative, setting it apart from outdated systems like PRBT. The service is set for a nationwide rollout, with expansions to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand planned for January 2025.
Avinash Mudaliar, Co-founder and CEO of OTTplay, shared excitement about bringing premium, personalized content to BSNL users, highlighting the significant impact this partnership will have on how customers experience digital entertainment.
Additionally, Puducherry has witnessed the expansion of BSNL’s National Wi-Fi Roaming Facility, with Manadipattu becoming the second fully Wi-Fi-enabled village in India. This service enables both BSNL and non-BSNL customers to enjoy seamless connectivity via BSNL Wi-Fi hotspots.
BSNL’s Intranet Fibre-based TV (IFTV), which was launched nationwide in October 2024, is also now available to FTTH customers in Puducherry. Offering over 500 live TV channels at no extra charge, IFTV is an exciting new option for those seeking affordable entertainment.
Through these initiatives, BSNL is reinforcing its commitment to digital inclusion and connectivity, creating a digitally empowered India where high-quality services are accessible to every citizen, anytime and anywhere. The expansion of these services across India, beginning in January 2025, will make BSNL a significant player in the digital entertainment and connectivity landscape.
