The MSO’s industry organisation, AIDCF, has roped in Ernst & Young (EY) to prepare a report on the impact of the decline of pay TV homes on the distribution industry.
For this purpose, EY has created a short survey, to gather feedback to include in the report. The survey questions could be accessed here:
According to people in the know, the All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF) survey will help in bringing out the ground realities of the linear TV distribution industry, which the stakeholders claim, is on shaky grounds; especially due to indifferent regulations and lack of understanding of how the dynamics work.
AIDCF sources have said that the report, based on the survey, will be presented to the government to ‘highlight the challenges’ faced by LCOs and the industry. The findings will also ‘strengthen’ the understanding of LCOs and the industry’s ‘case’ for seeking necessary regulatory protections.
The questions are designed to get feedback that are likely to support the distribution sector’s claims that new tech or streaming platforms and COVID19 have financially impacted the segment, leading to job and revenue losses.
