Fans of the iconic comedy film ‘Bhagam Bhag’ can rejoice as the much-loved movie is finally getting a sequel after nearly 18 years. Titled ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’, the film is set to release in 2025, promising to deliver even more laughs and chaos.
The sequel will be directed by Priyadarshan, who helmed the 2006 hit, and will see the return of Akshay Kumar, Govinda, and Paresh Rawal in lead roles. The original’s ensemble cast, including Lara Dutta, Rajpal Yadav, Jackie Shroff, Arbaaz Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Manoj Joshi, and others, made it a comedy classic, and fans are eagerly anticipating the new lineup, ANI reported.
The rights for the sequel were acquired by Sarita Ashwin Varde of Roaring River Productions in collaboration with Shemaroo Entertainment, the original rights holder. Sarita, who is also co-producing the film, shared her excitement, stating, “A special film like Bhagam Bhag deserves a sequel that’s just as special. When the time was right, we decided to take the plunge.”
Hiren Gada, CEO of Shemaroo Entertainment, added, “We are thrilled to partner with an incredible team to create a film that will continue the legacy of its predecessor by bringing more laughter, fun, and entertainment.”
The makers have promised that ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ will be “madder, crazier, and funnier” than the original. However, plot details remain under wraps, keeping fans guessing about the misadventures that await.
The film is expected to begin shooting in mid-2025, with a theatrical release planned soon after.
With its stellar cast, a proven director, and a legacy of humor, ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated comedy films of the decade.
