Google parent company Alphabet has announced the appointment of Anat Ashkenazi as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Ashkenazi, who will also serve as Senior Vice President of Alphabet and Google LLC, will officially assume her role on July 31, 2024.
The announcement, made via a US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, marks a significant leadership change at Alphabet. Ashkenazi brings over 23 years of experience from her previous tenure at Eli Lilly and Company, a leading pharmaceutical firm, where she served as Executive Vice President and CFO, IANS reported.
“I am honoured to join Sundar and his leadership team as they invest in the company’s future at such an exciting moment,” Ashkenazi stated, “Today, the opportunity for impact is greater than ever.”
Ashkenazi’s career at Eli Lilly began in 2001 and includes diverse roles spanning finance, strategy, and operations. She has served as CFO for several of the company’s global divisions, including Oncology, Diabetes, Global Manufacturing & Quality, and Research & Development.
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai expressed his enthusiasm for Ashkenazi’s appointment, highlighting the critical period of innovation the company is currently navigating.
