Elon Musk‘s platform X is gearing up to take on giants like Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams as it evolves into what Musk calls an ‘everything app’.
The latest move in this direction is the introduction of ‘Conferences’, a feature set to enable X users to conduct video conferences akin to other popular platforms, TOI reported.
Reports from X user DogeDesigner and X Daily News suggest that X Conferences will be integrated into the existing live audio platform, X Spaces, which gained video support earlier this year. Screenshots of the beta version have surfaced, hinting at the forthcoming feature.
While the company is yet to confirm the development officially, leaked screenshots indicate that X Conferences could facilitate personal group video and audio calls within X Spaces.
X Spaces, a feature on X Platforms, allows users to host public audio conferences accessible to anyone on the platform as listeners.
Musk has been revamping the platform extensively, introducing features like direct calling between X users within the app.
In a recent announcement, Musk unveiled plans for X TV, a streaming platform aimed at providing high-quality content on larger screens. The app promises cross-device viewing and smartphone casting capabilities.
X CEO Linda Yaccarino expressed excitement about the upcoming X TV App, emphasizing X’s ambition to deliver real-time, engaging content seamlessly across various devices. Yaccarino also encouraged users to contribute ideas for the app, signaling X’s commitment to user-centric innovation.
