Prime Video‘s latest romantic drama, ‘The Idea of You’, made a dazzling debut at this year’s South by Southwest (SXSW) festival. Headlined by the dynamic duo of Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine, the film captured hearts with its poignant portrayal of modern love.
Based on a novel by Robinne Lee, ‘The Idea of You’ tells the story of Solène Marchand (Anne Hathaway), a 40-year-old single mother who finds unexpected romance with Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), the 24-year-old lead singer of boy band August Moon.
However, their passionate love affair faces challenges when Hayes’ fame threatens to overshadow their relationship, the company said in a press release.
In an exclusive interview, Hathaway, who also serves as a producer, expressed her love for crafting romantic narratives that resonate with audiences. “I love making movies that have a bit of romance in them,” she shared, adding, “There was something about Solène and Hayes and their love that did feel true.”
Directed by Michael Showalter and featuring a stellar cast including Ella Rubin, Annie Mumolo, Reid Scott, and more, ‘The Idea of You’ promises to deliver a captivating cinematic experience. Producer Cathy Schulman, along with Hathaway and others, aimed to create a film that celebrates the joy of love and connection. May 2 is when it premieres on Prime Video.
