Chandigarh is gearing up for its inaugural international film festival, Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF), scheduled from March 27 to 31. CIFF unveiled its diverse lineup, featuring over 67 titles, spanning world cinema, Indian feature films, classics, and short films.
The festival’s opening night will feature the French culinary drama “The Taste of Things,” starring Juliette Binoche, a Cannes-acclaimed film that earned director Tran Anh Hung the prestigious best director prize. Closing the festival is the South Korean horror drama “Exhuma” (‘Pamyo’), the highest-grossing film of 2024 in South Korea, PTI reported.
CIFF’s program includes 24 award-winning international features in the World Cinema section, 17 indie gems in the India Unveiled category, 27 shorts in Brief Encounters, a curated selection of children’s films, and timeless classics ranging from Satyajit Ray to Guru Dutt.
Film enthusiasts and audiences can anticipate an enriching cinematic experience during the five-day festival, which aims to celebrate global and Indian cinema, fostering a cultural exchange through the art of storytelling on the big screen.
