Elon Musk recently announced that Twitter users can now monetise their material through a subscription service, in addition to long-form text and hour-long films.
Twitter will not take a cut of this money over the next 12 months; instead, users that offer the subscription by turning on the ”
” option will receive the whole amount paid by subscribers, minus any costs imposed by platforms like as Android and iOS.
“We will also help promote your work,” Elon Musk tweeted. Our purpose is to maximize the prosperity of creators. You can quit our platform at any time and take your work with you. “It’s easy in, easy out,”
This decision comes in the wake of Twitter’s merger with X Corp and Elon Musk’s verification activities, including a $8 price hike for Twitter Blue. Musk has been attempting to increase Twitter’s ad revenue since it fell last year.
In a Twitter Spaces live interview with the BBC, Elon Musk stated that running Twitter has been “quite painful” and “a rollercoaster.”
As part of the new update for verified accounts, Twitter will now enable tweets of up to 10,000 characters in length with bold and italic text styling.
Musk, on the other hand, did not provide any additional details on how authors will be compensated for their work.
