All India Radio’s relevance as the voice of India on global geo-political issues remains prime was evident in latest NewsOnAir rankings.
Data reveals that the Punjabi service of AIR, ‘AIR Punjabi’, is quite popular in Russia, amidst the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, apart from its growing following in countries like United States, Canada, Finland and Ireland.
In the latest rankings of top countries in the world (excluding India) where All India Radio live-streams on NewsOnAir app are most popular, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia continue to top the charts, while Kuwait has made a comeback by displacing Nepal from the top 10 list.
Among the top AIR streams globally (excluding India), AIR Karaikal, AIR Kodaikanal and VBS Delhi have entered top 10, while AIR Pune, AIR News 24*7 and FM Gold Mumbai are out.
More than 240 radio services of All India Radio are live-streamed on NewsOnAir app, parent Prasar Bharati’s official app. These radio streams have a large number of listeners not just in India, but globally in more than 85 countries.
The present rankings are based on data from March 1-31, 2022.
