Malaysian satellite television and IPTV provider, Astro TV has unveiled its new Astro experience, enabling customers in Malaysia to stream Netflix and enjoy better savings with new subscription packs.
Besides that, there is also an all-new Astro pack designed for customers, allowing them to stream all the shows on Ultra Box and soon, Ulti Box alongside Disney+ Hotstar, HBO Go, iQIYI, TVBAnywhere+ and more.
Astro announced the new packages are the Primary pack, Entertainment, Sports, Movies, Entertainment Plus, Premium 1, 2, 3 and Platinum. Astro subscribers would find Netflix inside the Entertainment Plus Pack, Premium 2, 3 and Platinum packages.
Customers have the choice to remain on their current packs but now with flexible contract terms of 0, 12 or 24 months to suit their preferences, the company said in a statement.
Further, customers who sign up for the broadband packages can also enjoy a complimentary Netflix subscription for three months. Moreover, the Ultra Box users can immediately enjoy the Netflix app as well.
The pay TV operator’s group chief operating officer and chief executive officer Euan Smith said the group is excited about the partnership with Netflix.
However, Smith declined to reveal the company’s projection on the number of subscribers who would sign up for the new content.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Smith said, “We hit another milestone by aggregating the Netflix app directly onto Ultra Box so that customers can stream Netflix content seamlessly for an unbeatable big-screen experience at home. More apps, including Disney+ Hotstar, will quickly follow, making us the number one aggregator of the best streaming services in Malaysia”.
