Following the success of ‘Chumbak’, producer-creator Jamnadas (JD) Majethia is set to explore a new storytelling format with ‘Tulsi Hai Na’, a hybrid AI entertainment series featuring Shubhangi Atre in the lead role. The first-of-its-kind series will bring together real faces and voices with artificial intelligence to create a distinctive viewing experience.
Created by JD Majethia and produced by Jamnadas Majethia and Aatish Kapadia under the banner of Hats Off Productions, ‘Tulsi Hai Na’ is scheduled to premiere on the production house’s YouTube channel on 7 November. The series marks the banner’s latest experiment with technology-driven storytelling, offering audiences a new format this Diwali.
Speaking about the series, JD Majethia said, “As creators we have always believed in evolving with time. Following Chumbak, we wanted to experiment with what technology can offer to storytelling. With ‘Tulsi Hai Na’, we have created a hybrid format where technology expands the world without taking away from the emotional core. Having Shubhangi lead this makes it even more special.”
Shubhangi Atre, who plays Tulsi, also expressed her excitement about reuniting with JD Majethia for the project. The actor said that the collaboration was particularly special, given their previous association, and that the unique format offered her an opportunity to explore a different approach to storytelling.
“Reuniting with Jamnadas (JD) Majethia Sir is always special. Having worked together before and coming back for a project as unique as ‘Tulsi Hai Na’ makes this collaboration even more exciting. As an actor, we are always looking for opportunities to explore something new, and this project gave me the chance to be part of a storytelling format that is quite different from what we are used to,” Atre said.
She further added, “The coming together of real performances, voices and AI opens up an interesting world of possibilities. Playing Tulsi has been a special experience, and I am glad to be part of a project that embraces new technology while keeping storytelling at its heart.”
With ‘Tulsi Hai Na’, Hats Off Productions continues to explore emerging formats in entertainment, bringing together technology and human performances while keeping the emotional core of storytelling intact. The series premieres on 7 November on the production house’s YouTube channel.
