Netflix has unveiled the first look of ‘Unaccustomed Earth’, a new series based on Jhumpa Lahiri’s 2008 short story collection of the same name. The series stars Preida Pinto, Siddharth and Indraneil Sengupta in key roles.

 According to a PTI report, ‘Unaccustomed Earth’ explores the lives of second- and third-generation Indian Americans. Lahiri’s book was also her first work to top The New York Times Best Seller list.

The series is a family drama set around a close-knit Indian American community. It will explore themes such as love, loss, longing and the search for belonging.

The series is showrun by Madhuri Shekar. Preida Pinto plays Parul Chaudhury, while Siddharth plays Amit.The cast also includes Parveen Kaur, Sarayu Blue, Justin Bartha, Adi Roy, Iyla Sundarsingh Mckaig and Jayant Kripalani.

The series will carry the same title as Lahiri’s book, ‘Unaccustomed Earth’. Netflix has released its first look, building interest around the upcoming adaptation.
