Netflix has announced that Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Gandhari’ will premiere exclusively on the streaming platform on September 3, 2026.According to a Netflix press release today,the film is an action thriller that focuses on a mother’s determination to protect and find her daughter.

Written and produced by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Devashish Makhija, the film also stars Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Swastika Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht and Jatin Sarna in important roles.

The story is set in the fictional town of Joypurra and follows Bani, played by Taapsee Pannu. Bani is a mother whose life takes a difficult turn as she tries to find her daughter. During her search, she faces a dangerous world where every step brings a new challenge and threat.

Netflix describes ‘Gandhari’ as a story about a mother’s love, courage, sacrifice and determination. The film combines an emotional story with intense action sequences. Taapsee Pannu is also taking on one of her most physically demanding roles with the film.

As Bani gets closer to finding her daughter, her journey becomes increasingly difficult. The people she encounters and the dangers she faces add suspense and uncertainty to her search.

‘Gandhari’ also marks another collaboration between Taapsee Pannu and writer-producer Kanika Dhillon. The two previously worked together on Netflix’s ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’.

Kanika Dhillon said that the film tells the story of a woman who refuses to be defined by her circumstances. She described Bani’s journey as personal, intense and relentless, and said she was excited for audiences to watch the film.

Netflix India’s Director, Original Films, Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, described ‘Gandhari’ as an emotionally charged action-thriller that presents a mother’s love as a powerful force.The film will be available to stream only on Netflix from September 3, 2026.
