According to a NODWIN Gaming press release issued today, BGMS, one of India’s flagship BGMI esports tournaments, will feature 24 teams competing over four weeks for the championship title.
Since its launch, BGMS has grown into one of the defining competitive platforms for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) esports in India.
This season introduces a refreshed tournament format that rewards teams for consistent performances from the very beginning, with every match contributing to their journey towards the championship.
The tournament will begin with League Week 1 from August 10 to 13, followed by the Bounty Weekend from August 14 to 16. League Week 2 will be held from August 17 to 20, while Super Weekend 1 is scheduled for August 21 to 23.
League Week 3 will run from August 24 to 27, followed by Super Weekend 2 from August 28 to 30.
The Playoffs will take place from August 31 to September 2, after which the top-performing teams will compete in the Grand Finals from September 4 to 6 to crown the BGMS Season 5 champions.
Commenting on the announcement, Akshat Rathee, Co Founder and Managing Director of NODWIN Gaming, said BGMS was launched to provide Indian esports with a platform that matches the passion and competitive talent of the country’s gaming community. He added that the ecosystem has grown significantly over the past five seasons, with stronger teams, longer player careers and deeper fan engagement.
According to him, Season 5 will continue that journey by bringing another month of top-level BGMI competition featuring India’s best teams and players.
Now in its fifth season, BGMS will bring together some of India’s best professional players and emerging talent on one of the country’s biggest competitive gaming stages.
Through its evolving tournament format and expanding broadcast reach, the event aims to strengthen the connection between players, teams and millions of gaming fans across the country.
The announcement comes as India’s gaming industry continues to expand. According to Naavik’s ‘India State of Play 2026’ report, the country’s mobile gaming market crossed USD 1 billion in combined revenue in 2025 and is expected to reach around USD 1.5 billion in 2026.
The report also says shooter games account for 43 percent of India’s in-app purchase revenue, with Battle Royale titles continuing to drive strong player engagement and spending.
NODWIN Gaming said details about the participating teams, prize pool, broadcast timings and the complete tournament format will be announced soon.
