CNN-News18 has launched a new news programme, ‘Raw Report’, hosted by senior journalist Shawan Sen. The show premiered on August 3 and will air every weekday at 12 pm and 10 pm on television, connected TV (CTV) and YouTube.
According to a CNN-News18 press release issued today, ‘Raw Report’ will combine live reporting with in-depth analysis to give viewers a better understanding of the day’s biggest stories.
The programme aims to go beyond headlines by featuring exclusive reports, on-ground coverage and detailed explanations of major developments.
The 12 pm edition will focus on the day’s top story, using field reporting, visuals and data-based graphics to explain events as they unfold.
The 10 pm edition will provide a complete roundup of the day’s biggest national and international news, along with analysis to help viewers understand the wider impact of key developments.
The show will also feature a major newsmaker of the day and include at least one exclusive news break in every episode.
Along with the launch of the programme, Shawan Sen has joined CNN-News18 as Executive Editor Enterprise & Special Investigations.
This marks his second stint with the network. He previously worked as a Senior Correspondent at CNN-IBN between 2012 and 2016, covering crime, defence and intelligence. During his career, he has also been associated with Republic TV, The Times of India, The Indian Express and Times Network.
Rahul Shivshankar, Editorial Affairs Director at CNN-News18, said the launch of ‘Raw Report’ reflects the network’s focus on original reporting, enterprise journalism and meaningful analysis.
He added that Shawan Sen’s return strengthens the editorial team, bringing valuable field reporting experience and a strong track record of breaking important stories.

He said ‘Raw Report’ is designed to deliver verified, first-hand information, cut through the noise and help viewers understand the facts behind every major story.
